What these channels actually post

Crypto Telegram is not one thing. Five kinds of channel appear in the list above, and they want very different amounts of trust from you.

News channels

Cointelegraph and CoinDesk both run official Telegram channels that carry breaking news on Bitcoin, Ethereum, regulation, DeFi and NFTs. They post in order, without an algorithm deciding what you see, which is why many people follow crypto news here rather than on a social network.

Exchange announcements

Large exchanges use Telegram as their first announcement channel. New listings, trading pair launches and maintenance windows usually appear there before any third-party site picks them up. Reach these through the exchange's own website rather than by searching Telegram for the name — impersonation is common.

On-chain analytics

Glassnode publishes holder metrics, market cycle indicators and on-chain flow data. This is not news. It is closer to a research feed, and it assumes you already know what the charts mean.

Token launch calendars

ICO Drops keeps one of the longer-running token sale calendars, and its channel posts upcoming sales, presales and project ratings. A listing there is a schedule entry, not an endorsement of the project.

Trading signals

Signal channels post buy and sell calls with entry points and stop-losses. They are also the most scam-prone part of crypto Telegram. Every performance figure is self-reported. One is listed above so you can see what the format looks like, with that caution attached to it.

Questions about crypto on Telegram

What are the best Telegram channels for crypto news?

Cointelegraph (@cointelegraph) and CoinDesk (@CoinDeskGlobal) are the two established crypto news organisations that run their own Telegram channels. Both post several times a day on Bitcoin, Ethereum, DeFi and regulation. Both are listed above.

Does Binance have an official Telegram channel?

Yes, two in English. @binance_announcements is one-way and carries new listings, product updates and maintenance windows. @binanceexchange is the community group, where members can post. Both are listed above.

Does Coinbase have an official Telegram channel?

No. Coinbase's own support pages say they have no Telegram presence. Any channel calling itself Coinbase Official on Telegram is not run by Coinbase. This is the single most common crypto impersonation on the platform.

Are crypto trading signal channels reliable?

Quality varies enormously, and the numbers are not checkable. A signal channel reports its own win rate, and nobody outside the channel can confirm it. Some channels do explain their reasoning and publish losses as well as wins, which is a better sign than a screenshot of profits. Never act on a signal with money you cannot afford to lose.

How do I know if a crypto Telegram channel is real?

Start from the organisation's own website and follow its link to Telegram, rather than searching Telegram for the name. A real channel usually has a long posting history and a bio linking back to a known site. Two things should stop you immediately: a request to connect your wallet, and a promise of guaranteed returns.

How do I find DeFi and Web3 channels?

What is the difference between a crypto channel and a group?

A channel is a one-way broadcast, which is what exchanges and news outlets use. A group is a conversation where every member can post. Each entry above says which it is.
